Alexander E. Sklavos, Esq., is the founder of The Sklavos Law Group, PC, bringing decades of legal experience and a steadfast commitment to serving clients throughout New York. Admitted to the New York State Bar and the United States Federal Courts, Mr. Sklavos has built a reputation for excellence in matrimonial law, family law, civil litigation, and landlord-tenant law, both commercial and residential. He’s been published in dozens of cases and has tried cases in the emerging fields of IVF and embryo litigation, complex custody litigation, business division, equitable distribution, possessory rights, copyright infringement, just to name a few.

Mr. Sklavos earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Union College (Schenectady, NY) before obtaining his Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law, where he achieved academic honors. He was also recognized as Clinician of the Year for his outstanding work advocating for disadvantaged senior citizens. His legal career began as a clerk to Justice Thomas Demakos of the New York State Supreme Court, where he gained invaluable insight into judicial decision-making and complex litigation.

Beyond his litigation practice, Mr. Sklavos has a strong dedication to legal education and professional mentorship. He previously served as an adjunct professor at Touro College, where he instructed courses in Business Law and Real Estate. He remains actively involved in the legal community as a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Long Island Bar Association, where he formerly sat on the Board of Directors.

Within the Long Island Bar Association, Mr. Sklavos has served as a member of the board of directors and as a member of several key committees, including the Matrimonial Law Committee, Community Relations Committee, Real Property Committee, and Surrogate’s Court Committee. He also served as Co-Chair of the Student Mentoring Committee, helping to guide the next generation of legal professionals. Additionally, Mr. Sklavos has served as a member of the Long Island Bar Association Grievance Committee, reviewing complaints filed against attorneys in Long Island. His leadership extends beyond the legal profession, having served as the former Democratic Town Leader for the Town of Oyster Bay and the President of the Locust Valle/Bayville Soccer Club.

By maintaining active involvement in bar associations, political organizations, and community initiatives, Mr. Sklavos continuously works to foster goodwill and strengthen the legal profession.
